I reckon you should go for it... Maybe you can do something with it that hasn't been done before. As it needs some attention anyway, do something wild with it. The RX is a great car, but youv'e been there, done that, time to move on to something completely different. So, what is the [glow=yellow,2,300]WILDIST[/glow]SVX you can think of - and turn it into one. Who hasn't seen a Delorean and not thought of the Back to the Future version ? As for the wheels, Camoflage them with highlights. if you do the body yellow, do chrome and yellow ( you'd have to get the centrecaps though) Man, you could do some crazy things with that - it's a blank canvas .. Besides, it's not like you will ruin a pristine paint finish or interior now is it...? If you were going to leave the SVX standard, - I'd stay with the RX Go on - you know you want to... ;D ;D

Well... I still don't know what to do. On one hand I have the Rx. It's light, very peppy, fun for sure, drifts like a champ and is going to cost me an arm and a leg to add A/C. The SVX on the other had IS a money pit, but when it's done it will be worth more then the Rx... but it's A/C also doesn't work but it's a cheap fix. And all the other work I need I really don't think I want another project right now... Also, I'm very happy with the Rx. Other then not having A/C and the oil pressure gauge still not being hooked up, it's pretty much in a state of "done" (thinking of ditching the oil pressure for an A/F anyway... who cares about oil pressure?) When my cars are done, they tend to stay that way and I'm looking forward to the Rx being my daily while the XT goes back to being a project so it can get closer to being done. I also love running regular and getting 30 MPG... and hey its only like $2.75 here a gallon right now! I donno... to sum up the SVX will be worth more and probably be almost as fun, and hella more comfy, but the Rx requires no more money really. Maybe I'll just go test drive it and pass.... I'm sure the SVX is slower then the Rx...

I wouldn't bet on the SVX being slower, especailly since it already has a 5-speed in it...Probably closer than you think

It didnt take me long to decide (Eh, I'm a impulse shopper ) I have a RX with a new engine in it and drive it everyday. Plus the XT-T, the Brat, a XT6 waiting(collecting dust). After the Dragon I thought I would see if I could find one in my price range (cheap!) It actually didnt take that long. But of course, I think alot of it has to do with the location. The guy I'm buying mine from kept telling me how its a collector car and real rare I told him I was looking at a couple already and knew several people with SVX's. That shut him up If you have lots of them for sale in your area, I say wait for the right one. The reason I jumped on this one in particular is because of the shape its in and the price. I've been burned by the "Snooze, you Loose" motto before

They are a very rare Jap "Super car" as much fewer SVX's were ever built compared to Supra, 300Z, ect...but are yet to be considered a "Collector's" item.....but have the potential down the road.....but probably only in a all stock, low mileage form....which is getting harder and harder to find even now...

Well... I passed.. and not really by much.. It was probably a good deal, but the car just needed too much love and the "de-ricing" operation did not seem to go very well. Biggest downside to it is that it was just... well ugly. The paint had runs all over it, like he just painted right over the existing paint as fast as he could... Also the dash lights were missing the cover that has what the lights mean on it and the temp controls were painted over as well.
I probably would have gone for it if he had at least attached the body panels to the car... the bumper and side skirts were almost falling off... It just needed more love then I was prepared to give it at this time.
