The first week is basically classroom training /orientation...and getting to know the company policies etc etc...a history of the company ..whats planned for the future.
Did you know that it takes 1 full year to make one Blackhawk chopper from start to finish??
I am going to be taking a few steps back in what I actually know how to do ..by going back to harnessing.
Hours while on training on first shift are 6 am to 2:30..means I have to leave my house around 4:30ish. May end up having to work second shift for a few weeks before going on 3rd.

Got to take a tour of pretty much the entire inside of the plant today...place is HUGE..It was cool getting down into the hangers and seeing the Blackhawks almost complete.. I will be just doing the wire harnesses for them but maybe I can someday move down to the mechanical part of assembly.. It was also explained that basically next year at this time I should be making $3-5 an hour MORE then what I am now. Plus since there isnt a #rd shift supervisor yet the people in my training group have all been saying I need to apply since I know my stuff and have been helping the trainer ...well..train LOL

I did that for 20 years. Now I am so grateful to be working for somebody else for a while!
