DOH! What makes you think I drove 6000mi to drive 25mph on a 11mi road with 318 curves to it? Its the people, man The commaraderie. And all that good stuff

Actually MOST of the Dragon is in TN, only about 3 miles of it is in NC....
But there are plenty of roads in the area that are as least nearly as good.....so we may change the meet to Townsend next year, and let Paul pick us out some roads to take.
But....we'll see what it looks like after this winter....(actually a Winter Dragon Meet would be cool...no bikes, so probably no LEO's either.....)....just a thought....

We can have it here in Greene County. I'm in tight with a few deputies, including my next-door-neighbor. We can have the cookout either my house, or at one of the city parks, where I can reserve a pavillion. I can find PLENTY of fun roads around here & lead a caravan ALL over the county. There is at least one road that rivals The Dragon for a challenge.

I go more for the resort... It's fun to drive the road, but I don't do it much.

I go more for the resort... It's fun to drive the road, but I don't do it much. there is a really nice little resort in townsend, that the wife and I stayed at sometime last year....not crowded, and up on the mountian...and I think would make a good site for a "Smokies Meet".....but I'm still fine with staying at Fontana, as the "HellBender" on Hwy 28 is about as much fun, and is less patrolled... But ANYPLACE in the Smokies will have incredable roads to drive... ;D

Even the Great Smoky MTN park has some incredible roads. On 441 thru the park the road literally doubles back on itself 360deg. Yeah Hwy 28 is nice. It has both slow, twisties, and fast sweepers. Whatever happens, I'll keep my eyes open for alternatives. Hopefully the THP will lose interest in the Dragon soon.

I have always heard bad things about THP ...from the first time I had to drive through there to get to Arkansas... Personally I dont care where the meet is held ...I go for the company and the cars...and since we love camping ..as long is there is a spot to pitch a tent ..dont care
